INI's unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting-edge resources allow for integration of clinical, psychological, and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology, psychiatry, and environmental neuroscience.

INI is recruiting a talented full-time Assistant Professor with expertise in the neuropsychology of aging and stress-related conditions, and a focus on environmental risk factors such as air pollution. The applicant should have significant experience developing and executing projects using complex large-scale datasets consisting of heterogeneous clinical and neuroimaging measures. The applicant will be required to apply and obtain funding for this effort through NIH or other grant mechanisms. As such, the applicant should exhibit strong skills in grantsmanship and empirical science writing. Additionally, applicants with working knowledge or expertise in the use of machine learning and advanced data science strategies to address clinically relevant questions about the brain are strongly encouraged to apply. The applicant will be required to teach one class per semester in the Neuroimaging and Informatics master's degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with

-harmonization of clinical data collected from multiple cohorts around the world through a variety of assessments

-harmonization of structural and/or diffusion MRI data collected from multiple cohorts around the world using various scanner sequences and magnetic field strengths

-leading large-scale multi-cohort projects with 100+ investigators

-NIH grant writing and scientific publications

-environmental exposure measurements (e.g., air pollution) and geospatial modeling strategies

-machine learning/deep learning for clinical/behavioral phenotyping

-neuropsychological assessment (battery development, test administration, scoring, and interpretation)

Minimum education: PhD

Minimum field of expertise: sound knowledge of brain-behavior relationships in clinical and non-clinical populations, particularly in older adults. Knowledge of structural and diffusion MRI techniques, big data methodologies, and multi-cohort data harmonization.

The University of Southern California strongly values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity in employment. Women and men, and members of all racial and ethnic groups, people with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
