Jensen Hughes is seeking entry-level engineers to join the Power Service Area of Jensen Hughes in Concord, CA. Jensen Hughes is a premier nuclear safety and reliability consulting firm. We provide technical support to a wide variety of engineering projects, which range from day-to-day nuclear power plant operation to cutting edge research and development in all areas related to plant safety.


The individual we are looking for will learn to perform risk assessments and engineering analyses, including probabilistic risk assessments (PRA), and develop technical documentation to support the safe operation of existing and future nuclear power plants. As a consultant, a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals, the ability to learn quickly, an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent oral and written presentation skills are key. The initial focus for this individual will be power plant risk analysis, with the potential to support other areas of our business, which include fire protection engineering, forensics, and security consulting.

    B.S. degree in Engineering required, preferably Mechanical, Nuclear, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of applicable experience (e.g., in the power industry) is a plus
  • Prior experience with nuclear technology (e.g., U.S. Navy Nuclear Program) is a plus
  • Prior experience in fire protection engineering/practice is a plus
  • Good communications and writing skills are required
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and Access database tools to track/analyze data in support of various risk analysis tasks. MatchCAD experience is a plus
  • Background check and drug screen are required on this position
