Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development, maintenance, and quality assurance (QA) of the Tactical Receive Segment (TRS) Software Suite. This software suite processes Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) tactical data for military applications, featuring an engine for message processing and a GUI for control and data distribution. The successful candidate will work on a performance-based, severable service acquisition, providing engineering maintenance and QA services for various releases of the TRS software. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality software updates and upgrades, managing software trouble reports, and implementing approved software change proposals.

Job Duties:

  • Perform software engineering maintenance and QA services for TRS SS 7 and TRS SS 12 Beta releases, including upgrades to the TRS Engine, Dashboard, and Installer applications, as well as the TRS Web Server.
  • Address Software Trouble Reports (STRs) related to Receiver Control Module (RCM) integrations and TRS-related applications.
  • Implement government-approved Software Change Proposals (SCPs).
  • Ensure delivered software is formally tested using test cases from the current TRS Software Test Plan to ensure conformance with requirements.
  • Produce technically accurate engineering notes and documentation with appropriate detail for successful software development.
  • Create Process Improvement documentation detailed enough for a SCAMPI level three CMMI review.
  • Conduct QA Audit reports with sufficient detail for successful resolution, addressing software errors or documentation deficiencies promptly.
  • Respond to requests for technical and progress information within one working day.

Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance is required. 
  • 5+ years of experience working in software engineering supporting DoD programs; additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Strong experience in software engineering, including maintenance and QA services.
  • Familiarity with TRS software suite or similar military software systems is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and environments relevant to the TRS Engine and Dashboard applications (e.g., Windows 10, Linux CentOS 7).
  • Experience with agile software development processes is preferred.
  • Active or ability to obtain IAT Level II certifications.
  • Must have experience with Programming Languages: Java (Front-end User Interface), C/C++ (Back-end Processing Engine)
  • Markup Language(s): XML
  • Tools: Eclipse, Git, SVN, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence
  • Demonstrated ability to produce detailed technical documentation and reports for engineering and process improvement purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond quickly to technical and progress information requests.
