• Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.
• Inspects refinery equipment for defects, such as, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
• Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
• Advises when immediate shut-down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
• Dismantle, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.
• Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.
• Makes either temporary or permanent repairs.
• Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.
• Operates simple machine tools, such as, drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc.
• Babbitts and scrapes bearings as required.
• Erects scaffolds and performs simple rigging as necessary.
• Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.
• Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience. A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass the Millwright Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft. Completed the Matrix University Plus Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training. To obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $34.00 to $40.00 per hour
