Position Title: Director, Corporate Revenue Recognition

Position Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring that the Revenue Recognition and related accounting functions are consistent with the goals and objectives of Trimble. The position requires leadership and strategic input and considerations to optimize Revenue, proper reporting of the Business Areas revenue and cost of sales and related balance sheet accounts. The position is directly responsible for coordination with management and staff to ensure the proper control activities are in place.

Essential Responsibilities
* Must independently gather/analyze information from business operations, business management, your team and technical guidance to understand issues to proactively anticipate the needs from an accounting, business and operations perspective and prioritize next steps to move forward
* Provide what-if's scenarios on transactions both in pre and post transactions, independently review, analyze and interpret contracts to render optimum revenue recognition accounting advice and draft the corresponding required accounting memos/whitepaper and present the position to outside auditors, senior management
* Provide leadership for business and sales model development and the impacts to accounting and revenue recognition to provide the best path forward optimizing for financial results
* Assist sales team and lead in structuring unique transactions and sales programs while satisfying GAAP requirements for revenue recognition
* Engage business finance, business operations, and systems operation on new systems implementation, order to cash streamlining/improvement within the ASC 606 framework
* Provide Technical Revenue Accounting guidance to the organization and manage the day to day revenue accounting for business units
* Have in-depth knowledge of revenue and cost relationships, able to lead business partners in identifying direct margin, gross margin, and cost issues
* Lead a team to coordinate revenue integration for new acquisitions in the business areas, including order to cash, contractual terms and conditions, marketing/roadmaps, and customer relationships on future deliverables.
* Provide input that will help drive process efficiencies for the order-to-cash process
* For the relevant business areas, own revenue internal controls procedures and ensure compliance within the SOX 404 framework

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience
* Minimum 15 years of experience with 5+ years public accounting experience, 10+ years industry experience required with 5+ years of direct application of ASC 605, ASC 606
* Bachelor's Degree in a related finance, accounting, or related field
* Expert knowledge of US GAAP must be well versed in ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 340
* In-depth understanding of intercompany, cost allocation, cost of sales, integration of acquisitions
* Advanced skills in Excel/spreadsheet modeling
* Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within the project time frame
* Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to influence and negotiate with others
* Ability to partner effectively with all levels of management

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience
* CPA
* M&A experience integration experience
* Salesforce, Oracle 11i, Revpro, BI experience
