Working under the general supervision of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer, the Data Engineer will support a diverse set of stakeholders (data architects, data scientist, BI developers) within King's Hawaiian on functions related to continued design, development, and optimization of the data pipelines & data platform. The data engineer will be charged with the data pipeline which brings the data from various data sources to support the analysis, reporting, audience creation and data science needs of King's Hawaiian. The individual will also manage workflow orchestration and demonstrate strength in machine learning data modeling.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with data scientists and DW/BI Architects to employ industry best-practices for efficient and reliable data pipelines
  • Lead the effort to gather, analyze and model business data (customers, financials, operational, organizational), key performance indicators, and/or market data (competitors, products, suppliers), using a broad set of analytical tools and techniques to develop quantitative and qualitative business insights and improve decision-making
  • Build Data Storage Solutions with SQL Server and Data Lakes.
  • Interact with business to understand the requirements to conclude blueprint, configuration, testing, migration, support, and continuous enhancements
  • Manage and lead the ML projects to ensure timely delivery
  • Design, build and launch efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data across several platforms including Data Warehouse
  • Ensure that data pipelines and data stores are high-performing, efficient, organized, and reliable, given a specific set of business requirements and constraints
  • Design, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet the data pipeline needs
  • Understand the technology landscape and how it affects the areas of business; trends associated with the technology; functional area and industries and the value propositions for the business to adopt new digital transformation
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor's degree in IT from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant experience required
  • 5+ years' experience in a data engineering role
  • Experience in data engineering, data science, or related field with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets
  • Experience building and managing data pipelines and repositories in cloud environments such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Experience extracting/cleansing data and generating insights from large transactional data sets using SQL, R, Python, Spark on the cloud
  • Experience in API development and/or ETL processes
  • Lakehouse architecture experience preferred
  • Experience in CPG industry is preferred

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)

  • Proficient ability to translate business needs into advanced analytics solutions
  • Expert in creating ML data models and data pipelines.
  • Proficient in building Data actions and Allocation Process
  • Working knowledge in building Analytical applications
  • Working knowledge of SAP SAC, SAP MII, SAP DMC, SAP Fiori, HANA Studio.
  • Expert in writing formulae in importing jobs
  • Proficient with Self-service BI
  • Expert in configuring delta loads
  • Expert in building connections with sources to Data lakes, Data warehouses and data imports
  • Expert in writing R and Python - Scripts,
  • Basic understanding of RDBMS and familiarity with SQL
  • Proficient ability with SAP Analytics technologies: S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, BW/4HANA, SAP Fiori, HANA XS applications, Google/Azure/AWS Cloud technologies and BI/visualization tools
  • Working Knowledge of SAP data structures, End to End dataflow, SAC predictive capabilities, augmented analytics, forecasting, etc.
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in an ever-changing, problem-solving environment
  • Proficient leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time.
