Senior Requirements Analyst

Summary: To provide management and labor necessary to support Continental United States NORAD Region (CONR), First Air Force (1 AF) Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH), Air Forces Space (AFSPACE) Tyndall AFB, FL and its associated units at Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS), Rome, NY; and Western Air Defense Sector (WADS) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) AFB, WA. Will be performed in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, Component-Numbered Air Force (C-NAF), Headquarters Air Force (HAF) standards, instructions, and commercial practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shall directly assist the Director's office providing policy recommendations for multiple operations programs supporting the Air Force Forces (AFFOR) staff, Air Operations Center (AOC), Air Defense Sectors (ADS), and Continental United States (CONUS) fighter units supporting CONR-1 AF (AFNORTH/AFSPACE), Operation NOBLE EAGLE (ONE) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) assigned missions.

  • Provide expert guidance to effectively execute and administer operations initiatives. Develop position papers, presentations, and background information on assigned projects. Subject Matter Expert (SME) on sensor systems, air and ground communications systems, counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), battle management systems (i.e. BCS-F, BC3, etc.), Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD), Electro-magnetic Pulse (EMP), and other Command Control, Communications and Computer (C4) systems and processes.

  • Support the directorate as a project manager for specific assigned tasks. Work closely with AFFOR staff, higher headquarters, assigned units, and other interagency partners to breakdown tasks and direct efforts to a successful conclusion

  • Provide training and support to personnel related to Command Control, and Communications (C3) capabilities development, acquisition, operational and developmental testing, systems fielding, and sustainment.

  • Shall have the ability to surge to support command contingencies (i.e. Homeland Defense and Defense Support of Civilian Authorities (DSCA) events.) Support CNOC efforts as both a primary operator, as well as a positional trainer in both the Current Operations Cell (CUOPS), and the Future Operations Cell (FUOPS).

  • Training may consist of the following:

    Attend conferences, symposiums, and training course/sessions as needed, Anti-Terrorism Training, Derivative Classification Training, Ancillary Training, Operations Security, Training in support of new or updated technology for the mission requirements, Crew Mission Ready Certification.

Qualifications

  • Experience comparable to an Air Force Officer with a military grade of O4/O5 has been used to meet this requirement.

  • Subject Matter Expertise on air defense systems and their planning, development, testing, acquisition, and sustainment.

  • Requires the ability to provide program/project management leadership, high degree of technical and research skills, extensive knowledge of information technology, standard office automation software, and information security, working in classified environments with sensitive information, and capable of working with senior military leaders in a fast paced, high stress environment.

  • Requires extensive experience with military doctrine and planning functions, air defense systems planning, integration and operations, Four (4) years' experience on a Headquarters or as a Major Command Staff action officer and four (4) years additional related experience.

  • US Citizenship and have a DoD government security clearance TOP SECRET and Special Compartmented Information

  • Demonstrate skill in verbal and written communication.
