Project professionals are registered geotechnical engineers or geologists who provide support to senior staff in interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Tasks require the application of standard or advanced geotechnical investigation techniques, analyses, procedures, and criteria. Moderate exercise of judgment is required in the details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Project professionals generally work under the supervision of project managers.

Salary Range: $75,000 - 95,000 annual salary per year

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Support planning, development, and coordination of projects.
  • Assist with project execution, including coordinating and performing field exploration activities, assigning laboratory testing, and performing analyses.
  • Monitor and document field activities such as drilling, subgrade preparation, pile installation, etc.
  • Monitor subcontractors' activities in the field.
  • Apply standard geotechnical/geologic evaluation techniques as well as advanced techniques, as needed; adjust and correlate data; and evaluate preliminary results.
  • Draft reports and proposal sections for review by senior staff.
  • Meet all utilization goals as determined by the supervisor.
  • Be able to travel extensively (required), both domestically and internationally.
  • Ensure commitments to clients are met in budget, timeliness, and accuracy to maintain a close relationship with the client throughout the development of the project and beyond.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions
  • A Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or equivalent from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a geotechnical/project engineer focusing on the civil, infrastructure, or similar industry.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge (practical and theoretical) of the fundamentals of geotechnical engineering, geology, and/or related disciplines and associated field data acquisition procedures.
  • Understanding of or ability to learn advanced analysis methods.
  • Ability to review and understand technical requirements.
  • Licensed CA Civil Engineer (or ability to obtain license within 1 year)
  • Current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, and the ability to travel internationally at times.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence, present information, and ideas, and respond to questions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Daily activities will include both field and office environments.
