Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of this position is to manage client, participant, and end user relationships on commercial new construction energy efficiency projects. This includes gathering the information needed to set up and run projects, coordinating project work deadlines and meetings, managing expectations of design teams and program managers, reviewing energy analysis and verification work, presenting energy reports to design teams, providing consultation, and pursuing project work for utility programs.

  • Drive opportunities for growth associated with program work.
  • Conduct regular outreach including presenting architect/engineer lunch and learns, attending trade show presentations, and participating in local professional organizations.
  • Guide architects and engineers through a well-defined energy consulting process.
  • Present reports detailing energy conservation measures and design advice.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings where energy simulation results will be developed and discussed.
  • Ensure tracking systems are up to date from the early stages of design through building operation.
  • Work with team members to provide high quality results and deliverables.
  • Listen carefully and impartially to others and gauge their wants, risks, and needs prior to speaking.
  • Plan and prepare in advance for the outcome Willdan wants from discussions and presentations.
  • Present information in a manner consistent with Willdan's goals and brand.
  • Meet obstacles with resourcefulness and generate suggestions for improving work.
  • Develop innovative approaches and ideas that work effectively.
  • Form and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Move projects along from start to finish in a timely, rational, efficient sequence.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Science or closely related field.
  • Excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and project management skills.
  • Motivated and self-directed with an ability to follow through on commitment.
  • Ability to complete work assignments and projects on time or in advance of scheduled deadlines.
  • Knowledge of architectural design, construction processes, mechanical design, building operation, and/or sustainable design concepts.
  • Existing relationships within the local design and construction industry.
  • Quantitative analysis skills.
  • Graphic design skills.
  • Ability to read construction documents.
  • Knowledge of energy codes and understanding of energy consumption at the building level.
