Job Title: Extrusion

Department: Rigid Core

Report To: Shift Supervisor

Shift: Swing 7pm- 7 am

Summary: Sets up, operates, shuts down and cleans a production extruder, mixer and other equipment in the Rigid Core process in accordance with established procedures. Mixes thermoplastic materials in the form of powder with semiautomated feeding systems into the extrusion machine. Once the product is created, operators measure and test it to make sure that it conforms to the Mannington specification. The above description is completed by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for performing quality control checks of in-process and extruded/laminated product

Will be required to read, interpret, and respond to process information from a computer screen and/or viewing inprocess product.

Will need to read and understand a schedule while using a computer interface to record production

Must have good visual acuity and attention to detail.

Will be required follow directions and recipes precisely and accurately.

Will be required to weigh, prepare, and transfer batch material into a vacuum loader.

Will be required to monitor mixer performance and mix quality

Requires bending and lifting of ~50 pounds or more throughout shift.

Required to operate overhead Gantry cranes to load rolls and perform die or equipment maintenance as required. ? Will be required to bend, squat, and kneel to perform normal line operator functions.

Will be required to perform maintenance and setup functions for dies, lamination cylinders, and extruder systems. ? Will be required to work with basic hand tools.

Will be required to perform operator functions as an individual and as part of a team.

Rotate between Extruder Operator and Mixer positions

Wears protective safety gear as required (i.e. gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs).

Trains other Urethane Operators as requested.

Participates in departmental training as requested.

Cross trains on other specified jobs and is available to fill in for relief and backup.

Performs all duties in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines using assigned safety equipment.

Overtime is/may be required.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma required.

General Tasks required of all associates:

Must understand and follow 5S and good housekeeping in their respective areas

Must adhere to all safety policies within Mannington, The Rigid Plant and specific to job being performed

Must clean their equipment throughout the shift and at shutdowns
