About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative In Vitro Pharmacologist with expertise in CNS drug discovery to join our Drug Discovery team. This individual will be an integral team member, building an efficient and results driven team of in vitro scientists, leading projects, and multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams. Expertise in design, execution, and delivery of robust and efficient workflows to drive data driven decisions will be a key success criterion in this role. Rapid identification of and execution of appropriate assay platforms to generate high quality and impactful data in neuroscience drug discovery projects will be essential. This individual will be required to build a nimble team of energetic scientists that can bring deep biology expertise and a results-driven mindset to efficiently deliver development candidates to our pipeline. The work is fast-paced and process-oriented in an environment where efficiency and continuous improvement are integral goals.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Lead drug discovery drug discovery project teams in neuropsychiatry, neurology, or neuroendocrinology to deliver high quality molecules to clinical development

  • Establish strategy and implement tactics to efficiently delivery high quality data to drive project decisions

  • Designs and performs sophisticated, technically challenging experiments to drive drug discovery projects

  • Generates hypotheses to pursue project goals and set new experimental directions

  • Develops novel and creative experimental solutions to overcome project goal obstacles

  • Makes substantive conceptual contributions to project activities and scientic strategies

  • Maintains substantial knowledge of drug discovery practices and theories and acts as a technical lead on various projects

  • Authors regulatory documents

  • Implements automation and LIMS to enhance efficiency

  • Trains, mentors, and develops junior scientists

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in CNS-relevant drug targets, assay development and workflow design and maintenance are essential skills

  • Demonstrated success leading teams of PhD and BSc scientists, with a mentoring mindset and dedication to developing passionate drug hunters

  • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams

  • Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to understand and communicate the broader picture and longer-term impact on programs and company

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

  • Excellent project management and strong project leadership skills with a result focused mindset

  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for programs/projects within function

  • Provides direction to team members, setting timelines and assessing performance against key milestones

  • Builds effective working relationships throughout the organization to achieve goals

  • BS/BA and 15+ years of experience, or

  • MS/MA and 13+ years of experience, or

  • PhD or equivalent and 7+ years of relevant experience

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $150,700.00-$218,500.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
