Position Highlights The University of Arizona Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) invites applications for non-tenure eligible, adjunct lecturer positions to begin in August 2023. Multiple positions are available for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters. Specific course instruction to be taught includes 1) Fundamentals of Materials for Engineers (MSE 331R) and 2) Introduction to Solid State Chemistry (MSE110). These undergraduate courses are service courses that are required for various programs in the College of Engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach an in-person undergraduate course - either MSE110 or MSE331R.
  • Assign homework, hold office hours, and administer exams.
  • Organize course material in the D2L online management system.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching at the University of Arizona, and to student engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD degree in materials science and engineering or related discipline AND work experience in the discipline of instruction.
