As the Director of Product - Biometrics, you will lead the strategic planning, development, and management of our biometric product portfolio. You will be responsible for defining the vision, roadmap, and execution strategy for our biometric offerings, ensuring they align with market demands, customer needs, and technological advancements. This role requires a deep understanding of biometric technologies, strong product management expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and impactful solutions.

You will support HID's successby:

Providing expert understanding of the Biometric Business Unit market and create a vision and strategy for how the business unit can grow its share of the market, including commercial biometric hardware, software and solutions for fingerprint and contactless biometric offerings focusing in these Key Areas...

Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Define a clear product vision and strategy for the biometric product portfolio, considering industry trends, market opportunities, and customer requirements.

  • Establish short-term and long-term product roadmaps that align with company goals and customer needs.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and inspire a team of product managers, designers, engineers, and other specialists dedicated to the biometric product line.

  • Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to ensure team cohesion, productivity, and professional growth.

Market Analysis and Customer Insights:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the biometrics field.

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, requirements, and pain points to inform product development priorities.

Product Development and Innovation:

  • Drive the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation to product launch and iteration.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and data science teams to create innovative biometric solutions that exceed customer expectations.

Roadmap Execution and Prioritization:

  • Prioritize feature development based on ROI, customer impact, and strategic alignment.

  • Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and milestones to ensure successful execution of the product roadmap.

Go-to-Market Strategy:

  • Develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies for new biometric products, including pricing, positioning, marketing, and sales enablement.

  • Work in collaboration with the Solution Enablement team to support the creation of vertical-based solution using core biometric core components

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, customer support, and compliance, to ensure a unified approach to product delivery and customer engagement.

Performance Measurement and Optimization:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of biometric products.

  • Continuously analyze product performance, user behavior, and market feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure biometric products adhere to relevant industry regulations, data privacy standards, and security requirements.

  • Experience in managing a hardware and software portfolio (SDKs, Drivers and application software)

  • Experience with semiconductors, optical or video technology manufacturing

  • Experience working with 3rd party hardware, software, technology and manufacturing partners

  • Capable of establishing credibility with sales force and customers

  • You are a quick learner and take ownership

  • You are comfortable with, and able to manage constructively; change, ambiguity, debate, conflict, and informed risk taking

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

YourExperienceand Education include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. An advanced degree (Master's, MBA) is a plus.

  • Proven experience (typically 15+ years) in product management, with a focus on biometric technologies or related fields.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively leading and mentoring cross-functional teams.

  • Deep knowledge of biometric technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching innovative products to market.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze complex information to make informed product decisions.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and product management tools.

  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and influence cross-functional teams.

The wage range for this role considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At HID, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.The base salary in the California area is $175,000 to $236,000.
