Position: Japanese Bilingual Tax Manager (Corporate Tax)
Work Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)

OVERVIEW:
The Tax Manager will play a key role in the tax practice at the firm, overseeing and managing various aspects of tax compliance, planning, and consulting for our clients. Working as a primary point of contact to assigned corporate clients, you will manage the engagement team to ensure successful delivery of tax solutions such as tax return preparation, tax provisions, transfer pricing, and tax consultation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
* Oversee the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and its individual (expatriates and dual-status individual) tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing high-quality tax services and strategic tax planning advice.
* Ensure the quality and accuracy of tax work, reviewing complex tax returns and documents before submission to clients.
* Conduct research to offer interpretations on complex tax issues and inquiries arising from client transactions, audits and tax submissions, and stay current with evolving tax laws and regulations.
* Examine and analyze works by junior and senior team members, and develop complex tax provisions for financial statements.
* Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and lead client meetings to ensure client satisfaction.
* Proactively identify solutions to address concerns and issues for clients, including strategies for minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing financial efficiency to align their financial goals.
* Establish effective and professional communication, both verbally and in writing, to cultivate and nurture business relationships.
* Develop expertise with an extensive and profound comprehension of tax concepts and apply this knowledge to client situations effectively.
* Coordinate and oversee multiple tax engagements concurrently, managing own and staff workload and ensuring tasks to be completed within established deadlines and budgets.
* Supervise and mentor staff and senior associates within the engagement team, providing guidance, training, and support to facilitate their professional growth.
* Evaluate the work of Staff and Seniors and deliver timely performance feedback.
* Assist in special projects, including client-specific assignments.
* Other duties directed by Partners and Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Bilingual Japanese and English language skills (reading, writing and speaking).
* CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation, actively working toward passing the CPA Exam, or relevant certification for respective discipline as soon as possible, if certification is not already attained.
* Minimum 5 years of tax experience in a CPA firm, with a strong focus on corporate/business tax returns.
* Demonstrated expertise in corporate tax compliance, planning, and advisory services.
* Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
* Experience with foreign issues (5471, 5472, tax treaties, etc)
* Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
* Dedication to delivering exceptional client service and building long-term client relationships.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
