Job Description

Facilities Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the efficient use of space within a facility. Plans and schedules facility layout, allocation of resources, and equipment placement to ensure smooth operations. Collaborates with various departments to determine space requirements and implements strategies to improve facility utilization.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facilities Planner: $

Pay commensurate with experience.

Facilities Planner Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepares Basic Facility Requirements, development, and update of asset inventory documentation.
  • Conducts extensive inventories, utilization surveys, or compliance inspections of Federally controlled space or property.
  • Develops long- and short-range plans for, and/or overseeing substantial geographic areas.
  • Uses knowledge of laws, agreements, customs, and regulations relating to real estate in one or more states or geographic areas.
  • Updates Facility Planning Documents.
  • Provides facilities related briefs and status reports, and other planning products such as economic analysis and site plans.
  • Defines and develops engineering project requirements and translate them into Performance Work Statements/Statements of Work.
  • Provides reports and other products in support of Facility Working Groups, Facility Utilization Boards, and other installation meetings.
  • Provides technical support to determine the feasibility/capability of existing facilities to support new missions or long-range programs as well as define requirements for new or additional facilities.
  • Assists in the development of various project management tools to include PMPs, Source Selection Plans (SSPs), Acquisition strategies, formal Acquisition Plans (AQPs), and Economic Analyses.
  • Prepares reports and recommendations for project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Advances concepts and approaches, reviews projects progress and results; provides project status to help management resource decisions.
  • Oversees the development, evaluation or review of plans and criteria for a variety of activities; assesses the feasibility of proposed plans, projects, and equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Facilities Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor Degree in Planning or Engineering/Architecture or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in planning, or equivalent experience planning at a Marine Corps Military Base to include experience with Basic Facility Requirements (BFRs), Asset Evaluations, Internet Navy Facility Assets Data Store (iNFADS), experience with DD1391s and Electronic Project Generator (EPG).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the military design and construction process is desired.
  • Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills both oral, visual and written.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Outstanding interaction skills, tact, and team building skills.
  • Ability use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to successfully pass drug screening and a federal background check is required.
  • Knowledge of BUILDERTM Sustainment Management System, TRIRIGA, E4Clicks, MS Project, AutoCADD, Primavera, and Visio is desired.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
