Mechanical Designer

You are a person who is always looking for ways to improve. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the creation and release of engineered parts and assemblies that are error free and ready for purchase or fabrication. At Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench, you will work in a collaborative engineering/production environment that fosters creativity and new ideas.

The compensation (range) for this position is $82,118 to $97,053 annually depending on skill. Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC pays based on skills and not job seniority. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. What you will own:

• Provide expertise in solid modeling, drafting and mechanical design
• Ensure design standards and best practices are maintained
• Support Manufacturing and Engineering by providing detailed design information, and solutions

What you will learn (if you don't know already):

• You will gain a detailed understanding of core rotating machinery and systems mechanical design.
• You will create models, and drawings in Solidworks and in AutoCAD
• You will learn to create bill of materials in the ERP systems (SAP)
• You will learn to create and maintain parts and assemblies in the PLM system (Enovia)
• You will update and add to the design guide by creating Wiki content
• You will work with shop personnel to ensure ease of manufacturing

How Success is measured:

• Gain proficiency in both core and systems mechanical design
• Timely completion of tasks
• Completion of continuous improvement projects
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments

What you already know:

• You possess a certificate in engineering drafting, Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of drafting experience, Solidworks experience preferred, AutoCAD experience is helpful
• Minimum 2 years of solid modeling experience, Solidworks experience preferred, Solidworks Routing experience is helpful
• You understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Excellent knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Excel
• ERP software experience desired. SAP experience is helpful
• PLM software experience. Enovia/3DX experience is helpful

This role reports to the Design, Drafting and Document Control Manager and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic team with co-workers averaging 15+ years' experience helping achieve departmental and company goals.
