Job Scope/ Summary

To thrive as a Senior Accountant, you are a great teammate, detail oriented, someone who strives for accuracy, and energized by process efficiency. Having a collaborative mentality will be key in this role as the subject matter expert on all general and technical accounting functions for various internal team members across Behr.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile general accounting reports, ledgers, journals and schedules.
  • Manage treasury functions include cash transfers, wires, forecasts, etc.,
  • Coordinate internal audit requests and manage external audits from various governmental agencies.
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger including asset, liability and profit-and-loss accounts.
  • Research and prepare monthly sales, use, excise and environmental tax returns for domestic and international operations.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute sales commission reports.
  • Prepare and file workers' comp, government census and unclaimed property. Prepare various payments and reports, including royalties, rebates, customer returns and allowances
  • Support finance and executive management in creating spreadsheets, providing audit data, and preparing special reports as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION

  • Educational attainment equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Considerable experience performing a variety of professional and technical accounting functions
  • Related accounting experience of 3 - 5 years in manufacturing preferred
  • SAP experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards and practices
  • Attention to detail and skilled with working with figures
  • Ability to research, analyze and adjust accounting entries and reports
  • Ability to think analytically, creatively and independently
  • Demonstrated initiative and drive to achieve results
  • Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills
  • Advance MS Excel
  • Good communication and organization skills

Hiring Range: $66,500.00 - $104,544.00

Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
