Job Description
The Patient Access Financial Specialist III performs all admission functions including in-house financial management for CHS/SMH/NPH. Responsible for verifying accurate demographic and financial information and knowledgeable in the review and interpretation of insurance benefits, performs financial counseling, financial screening, charity applications and credit assessments. The Patient Access Financial Specialist establishes all financial arrangements, refers appropriate cases to other agencies, internal and external to assist patients with discharge/post hospital care. Interacts closely with Pt. Placement, Care Coordination, Social Services, and Patient Business Services to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Required Experience:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proper phone etiquette

Working knowledge of health plans, State and Federal Programs

Problem-Solving Skills

Preferred Experience:

Experience with screening and submitting Medi-cal application

Bilingual English/Spanish abilities

Ability to work flexible schedules
