Base Pay Range: $111,300.00 - $189,200.00 Annually

Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join a high-caliber team of product development and systems engineers with RAPID to develop the next generation ground breaking EUV reticle and photomask inspection systems, with responsibility over the following areas:

  • Create feasibility studies and testing for new system designs. Solve complex systems problems across optics, electronics, software, mechanics, and motion-control equipment. Drive systems related integration and testing activities at our home site and in the field, and provide critical support to manufacturing and field teams.

  • Support product release and continuous improvement plans. During beta events, track performance, investigate issues and resolve root cause. Lead and drive transfer process from engineering to manufacturing, including work such as specification validation, prototype acceptance testing and other critical systems-related documentation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Flexibility for periodic travel and willingness to engage with KLA customers is required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Must have a good understanding of optical, electromechanical and software systems and their interactions in sophisticated industrial equipment. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data to lead system architecture definition and develop system requirements. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in optics, opto-mechanics, and motion control systems.

  • Background in engineering or physical sciences with proven analytical skills. Experience developing metrology in semiconductor capital equipment or other manufacturing industries and handling technical issues with external suppliers. Additional desired areas of experience include: optical microscopy, image processing, optical design, and interferometry. Advanced knowledge of precision optical build processes, testing, and solving issues in a clean manufacturing environment.

  • Familiar with Matlab, JMP, and/or LabView. Experience with scripting languages (Python), is a plus.

  • An effective communicator able to share technical information with functional groups and provide executive level reports to management and customers. Enjoys mentoring, working with groups of people, and explaining complex things as simply as possible.

  • Results oriented and driven to excel. Agility and ability to thrive on a fast-paced program and respond quickly to field/internal issues.

  • Natural curiosity, inventiveness, and an interest in making things work better.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
