YOUR DAY TO DAY:

Support the production of klystron amplifiers (vacuum electron devices) through documenting, reviewing, and refining manufacturing processes and production design. Assist with the development of new products and their transition to manufacturing. Involvement in a variety of manufacturing processes including brazing, welding, rf testing, vacuum technology and provide engineering project support.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Devises the initial concept of the assigned Klystron Tubes, associated component or system and other Microwave products; and participates in the overall detailed product design, analysis, and testing. Technical specialist for research & development).
  • Assume project responsibility and carries it through various stages of design and development per project scope of the work/project charter.
  • Recognizes design problems and takes corrective action, identifying areas of cost reduction/yield improvement and implementing appropriate changes.
  • Works with manufacturing during pilot run and first product runs, to ensure an efficient transition from engineering into production.
  • Supports the production of existing products such as product improvement and build efficiency initiatives.
  • Develops and improves engineering processes and work instructions for building high quality Klystron tubes.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  2. Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.
  3. Minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to RF, vacuum devices, or high vacuum devices.
  4. Able to manage programs, projects, and products independently with direct supervision. Hands-on experience with a basic understanding of engineering principles, RF/microwave concepts, vacuum science/products, materials like metals and ceramics and process engineering, manufacturing science, etc.
  5. Some relevant HP helpful. Knowledge of HP tubes including design, analysis, testing, functionality, materials, and processes desired, or ability to learn it.
  6. Must have a passion for hands-on work and problem solving.
  7. Experience with Solid modeling software (AutoCAD/Autodesk, SolidWorks, ANSYS, Maxwell).
  8. Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  9. Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  11. Ability to work on a team and be a team player.
  12. Strong work ethics and initiative.

Salary Range: $83,000-$100,000 / year
