Purpose:

Provides oversight and technical direction to a group of people in project management, including project engineering coordinators, project engineers, project managers, and portfolio managers under the administrative guidelines of the company. Accountable for the identification, selection, hiring, training and development of people and managing their assignments. Accountable for delivery of projects in compliance with company requirements. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls department budgets with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Worley.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a project management department or sub-group of 30 or less.
  • Operational leaders implementing strategies within a complex area requiring a broad grasp of practices or principles in a highly specialized field or in cross-functional setting.
  • Generally, manage work through others.
  • Will have a high degree of autonomy operating within general management direction and functional policies. May manage work directly or through others.
  • May also be assigned a Project Management role on a project, program or portfolio.
  • Business Development Assists business development activities by facilitating the maintenance of personal profiles and resumes, tracking existing capabilities, and strategically addressing future customer capability requirements.
  • Encourages positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors.
  • May be involved in networking, negotiations, strategic alliancing, and cost savings efforts. Stewards the maintenance of pricing records reflecting the effort to complete discipline activities.
  • May support proposals by developing the project execution strategy, reviewing costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers.
  • May be called upon to lead part or all of a proposal.
  • Experience (Desirable) Demonstrated PD experience leading large and mega projects with high risk; Complex commercial engagements for project delivery including joint ventures.
  • Supervision Received Operates with broad management authority.
  • Limited only by project objectives and policies of the organization. Work is reviewed to ensure Worley direction meets Worley vision and mission.
  • Responsible for planning, managing, and delivering project management operations in accordance with the business plan.
  • Controls project management staffing levels and organizational structure.
  • Ensures mentoring and training requirements are met.
  • Manages the employee performance review process.
  • Supervision Authority Has direct and indirect reports and has authority for performance evaluations impacting pay.
  • Makes decisions as to the selection, training, discipline, and remuneration of people. Gives administrative direction to subordinate supervision and contact with the work force is normally through such levels rather than direct.
  • Facilitates coverage of activities when people leave the team.
  • Contributes to dispute resolution efforts.
  • Ensures work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Experience (Essential) Typically 15+ years' experience, including 20+ years of relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience
  • Experience in oil, gas, refinery industries.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Training (Essential) University Degree,

Preferred:

  • Equivalent in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Additional Information:

  • This role is located in California
  • Salary Range $166,892-$245,430
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.
