Job Description:

Zscaler is looking to recruit a Manager of Global Payroll Operations to support effective communication with employees and business partners, efficiently resolve employee payroll questions, assist with audits and compliance, and drive new payroll initiatives and global expansion. The manager will build a payroll operations team (primarily in India) to support Zscaler's global payroll organization.

This role will be a key member of the Accounting & Finance team. This individual must be a self-starter, excellent at building relationships with key business partners, with strong time, people, and project management skills.

We prefer for this role to be based out of our headquarters in San Jose, CA (going into the office on Tuesdays & Thursdays) but can have flexibility for the right talent.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the payroll ticketing system, ensuring the timely resolution of employee matters. Monitor response times and ticket resolution/closure to measure KPIs.
  • Build and maintain payroll training and guides for Zscaler employees, highlighting key information and overviews of payroll systems.
  • Review and resolve SAP SuccessFactors and Ceridian Dayforce integration incidents.
  • Support payroll expansion by ensuring in-country payroll tax and compliance registrations are completed at the target go-live date. Liaise with International Payroll and People & Culture (HR) to establish new payroll locations.
  • Manage US state and local payroll tax compliance for new hires, rehires, and transfers. Ensure employees' pay profiles reflect the appropriate tax jurisdiction. Register Zscaler and obtain necessary payroll tax IDs for accurate payroll taxation.
  • Ensure timely reporting and payment of withholding taxes to relevant agencies.
  • Collaborate with People and Culture (HR) for payroll-related matters such as new hires, terminations, rehires, transfers, and change of status.
  • Collaborate with Payroll Processing and Payroll Accounting managers to maintain SOX compliance and update internal control narratives.
  • Assist with ad hoc requests for payroll data and reports to support tax, legal, employment compliance, treasury, and audits/reviews.
  • Work on special projects, including process transformation, system implementations/upgrades, integrations, including user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Continuously identify and develop process improvements to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of managing Payroll operations, preferably in a publicly traded SaaS company
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports, including international employees

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software packages SAP SuccessFactors, ADP WFN, Ceridian Dayforce, and NetSuite is highly desired
  • Solid knowledge of applicable Global wage and hour laws
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under tight timelines
  • Result-oriented individual with a high degree of accuracy and ability to take initiative
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$112,000$136,000 USD
