Job Description

We are looking for a Turreted Weapon Systems Program Manager to add to our team. Working closely with the Business Unit Leadership Team and the Turreted Weapon Systems Programs Lead, the Program Manager supports efforts in all phases of the product lifecycle including proposal, design, prototyping, production, and fielding of our Turreted Weapon Systems, which is all in support of "Equipping Those Who Defend Freedom".

The Program Manager may provide leadership and guidance for other program managers, along with ownership of their own program. Some of these programs may be in the startup phase, while others may be in the follow-on phases. The startup phase usually involves design, build, and qualification; the followon phases are primarily production and sustainment oriented. Normally the incumbent would manage programs that have $115M in annual sales value. Total scope up to $100M.

Here's what you'll be working on day to day:

* Ensure compliance with contract requirements through coordination and management of all program activities

* Achieve program / project objectives through effective application of program management principles within the confines of scope, schedule, and budget as defined by the program / project sponsor

* Sustain and expand the organizations book of business through the leadership and / or support of proposal teams and business capture campaigns

* Ensure proper coordination between all program elements by developing program plans and schedules, and to ensure compliance with the program plans by monitoring the status of cost, schedule, and task completion

* Monitor overall Turreted Weapon Systems programs' costs, schedules, task completions, and deliveries for performance against schedules and work with the team to take appropriate action

* Achieve timely resolution of outstanding issues through the conductance of effective day-to-day communications with the customer, Moog management, and Moog functional organizations

* Optimize the program / project likelihood of success through the appropriate application of the following processes: Project Planning; Project Monitoring and Control; Organization Management; Change Management; and Risk Management

* As a member of the Turreted Weapons Systems leadership team, support all aspects of new business proposal development including providing inputs to Sales Managers for development of bookings and Sales Forecasts

Here's what you'll need to bring with you:

* Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in business management and / or a technical field (preferably engineering)

* 5+ years of program management related work experience

* Familiar with methods, procedures and techniques used in quality and material control systems

* Excellent listening, collaboration, and persuasive skills to both understand, explain, and expedite when necessary

* Strong interpersonal skills to handle internal and external customers in a positive manner regarding information impacting their programs

* Excellent writing skills for customer and Moog communications as well as proposal work

* Ability to organize and influence people, as well as an outstanding ability to communicate and facilitate with a highly collaborative and consensus driven leadership approach

* Proven knowledge and experience with formal project management, including use of project management tools

* Ability to obtain a US security clearance

It would be great if you also had:

* Understanding of the technology involved with Turret Weapon Systems and military ground-mobile systems

The base pay range for this opportunity in CA is $111,000 - $212,5,000 annually. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual profit-sharing bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
