What does the job involve?

Summary: Able to operate various types and sizes of hand or power brakes, bending and forming sheet metal parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Ability to operate various types of machines: Sizing, planisher and power brakes.
  • Operates power brake to form various types of flat metal stock such as banding, making joggles, and angle bends.
  • May finish-form partially formed punch press, hydro press, and drop hammer parts.
  • Recognizes improper functioning of press and reports condition to supervisors.
  • Assist other operators as needed.
  • Performs rework, repair and other associated operations described.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 1-2 years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills:

  • Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply a general understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Other Abilities: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

Tools used:

  • Hand tools, measuring instruments and templates.

Materials used:

  • Lubricants, Ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their alloys in the form of flat and shaped parts.

ITAR Compliance:
