Job Description:

Lead team of architects working on current & future FPGA families
  • Network, system, memory, custom interfaces; system connectivity
  • Security & configuration architectures, including FW
Champion system level requirements
  • Drive customer Use Case definition & internal system modeling efforts
  • Drive team to decompose Use Cases & create technical requirements for design
  • Ensure requirements are captured in architecture specs, behavioral models, RTL, SW/FW

Architect future product features

  • Ensure system level requirements are clear & met in implementation, working with design teams
  • Work to identify, explore, and resolve tradeoffs in implementation
  • Participate in core teams & drive architecture working groups

Requirements/Qualifications:

Hands-on technical experience with FPGA and/or ASIC/SoC system architectures

  • BSEE 15+ years of industry experience/MS 12+ years of industry experience or similar technical degree.

  • Detailed understanding of implementation, tradeoffs, & usage of system interface blocks such as high-speed serial transceivers, associated protocol IP such as PCIe & Ethernet, high-performance parallel interfaces such as DDR, LVDS, MIPI, and associated protocol IP such as DDR controllers
  • Detailed understanding of SW/FW requirements & implementation in support of system interfaces at driver & applications levels, including data, control, and security considerations
  • Experience designing & implementing FPGA systems that make use of such features, either as individual contributor and/or as technical lead, across a range of applications domains. Knowledge of Industrial, Communications, and Data Center centric applications an advantage
  • Knowledge & understanding of FPGA design flows and tool features & requirements; understanding of FPGA fabric architectures and performance, power, and area tradeoffs and how to best optimize these metrics in design & implementation

Leadership & management experience

  • Experience leading mixed teams of HW & SW designers to deliver systems designs for customers in FPGA and/or ASIC/SoC
  • Management of team design processes, including tracking customer requirements, specification delivery, design reviews, design, verification, and release tools processes
  • Technical leadership & communication skills
  • Customer engagement experience, understanding systems challenges & goals, gathering & documenting requirements, working with marketing, design, and software to ensure requirements are understood and communicated internally to the right stakeholders

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in California, is $150,000 - $260,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
