Job Description

PIMCO, a leading asset management firm, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Python Developer to join our team. As a Senior Python Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development of our new Portfolio Optimization application, revolutionizing the way our Portfolio Managers construct and manage portfolios.

Project Description

The Portfolio Optimization application will systematize the portfolio management process using advanced algorithms and data analysis techniques. It will empower our Portfolio Managers to define risk targets and generate optimized orders based on a set of objectives, such as alpha signals, credit analyst ratings, or accounting measures.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Python Developer, you will be responsible for developing the entire platform, including the data infrastructure, optimization engine, and reporting tools. You will collaborate closely with our Portfolio Managers and Implementation group, Quants, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient solutions. This role offers exposure to portfolio management and developing scalable data intensive applications.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a software developer
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
  • Experience developing large-scale data-intensive applications running critical workloads
  • Proficiency in Python and a strong understanding of software development best practices (data structures and algorithms, OOP, and design patterns)
  • Experience with data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience in REST APIs, Messaging, and Caching
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and enjoys fast-paced environment
  • Financial markets knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Snowflake, is a plus

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary Range: $ 168,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
