Overview

LMI is seeking an experienced, skilled Practice Area Director for our Product Support practice within our Logistics Service Line. Successful LMI Practice Area Leads demonstrate competency in leadership critical thinking, relationship management, business growth, innovation and capabilities development while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

The Product Support Practice Area is aligned to our Acquisition and Sustainment subservice line (A&S SSL) and the Product Support Practice Area Lead (PAL) will lead activities that focus on solutions to maximize sustainment throughout the system lifecycle and enable optimal product support, system performance, and sustainment strategies. This practice area brings integrated logistics capabilities to clients focused on improving readiness and the operational capabilities of the systems they field and operate across the full system lifecycle.

Responsibilities
    Lead a large, diverse team of logistics and product support professionals
  • Build a practice area strategy aligned with the A&S SSL strategy goals
  • Develop, mature and document product support solutions, offerings, methodologies, and capabilities to stay in front of a rapidly evolving and digitally-enabled marketplace
  • Develop business development plans and provide solutioning, capture, and proposal support to markets and growth opportunities
  • Develop sales enablement materials to support subservice line and practice area growth
  • Foster collaboration and cooperation with other Practice Areas for unity of effort; communicate to a wide range of audiences, situations, and requirements
  • Manage the hiring process for talent demands within the practice area. Conduct interviews for demand requirements and coordinate with A&S SSL VP on hiring/staffing decisions
  • Assist Resource Managers and A&S SSL VP with staff redeployments and internal mobility
  • Mature the practice area by identifying and mentoring subject matter experts and emerging talent to achieve professional growth while maintaining a healthy culture
  • Identify methods and resources to improve the professional skills of employees to include certifications, degrees, professional organizations, and work experience
  • Provide input and support to practice area staff on Performance 365 goals and calibrations
Qualifications
  • Masters degree with a focus on logistics management, business administration, supply chain management, or other logistics discipline.
  • 15+ years experience in DoD and federal government logistics and integrated product support. DAWIA or equivalent certification in Product Support/Lifecycle Logistics strongly desired.
  • Understanding of support functions required to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability of major systems, subsystems, and components, including all functions related to system readiness.
  • Knowledge of DoD and other government agency current logistics and product support concepts, lifecycle sustainment planning, product support policies and procedures
  • Proven experience in designing and developing new solutions, revitalizing capabilities and skills, and innovating to enhance the portfolio of offerings.
  • Strong "Digital IQ" and understanding of latest in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions
  • High-energy, enthusiasm, curiosity, tact, and ability to effectively interact with clients at all levels in Government and industry.
  • Must be comfortable 'operating in the grey', engaging in 'healthy conflict' and maintaining a busy schedule
  • Ability to lead, nurture, and develop people in an effective way with positive impacts to both the employee and LMI.
  • Ability to create and foster a cooperative, respectful work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in business development including, opportunity identification and qualification, capture, bid/proposal a plus.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills; proficient using MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities
  • Must be available for meetings at client sites, including multi-day travel
  • Must have a Secret Clearance
