Overview

TRC is seeking multiple Transportation Engineers to join our team in Rancho Cordova, CA supporting clients in Sacramento, Stockton, Fresno, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino. These engineers will perform various transportation project management and engineering tasks of average difficulty accomplished through understanding and applying Caltrans standards, manuals, guidelines, policies, directives and computer software applications. Employee is required to have a current California driver's license, when operating a state-owned vehicle or driving another vehicle for state business.


Responsibilities

* Assist the Project Development Team in developing a Project Work plan for scope, schedule, and cost; managing both capital and support costs; and monitoring actual against planned costs.

* Assist the Project Manager to obtain services of functional units by negotiating agreements with functional managers to meet project commitments.

* In PRSM, manage project milestones, resources, and tasks.

* Research and respond to project resource requests, incorrect charging practices, and direct or redirect resources to accomplish project delivery.

* Prepare project workplans, risk management plans, communication plans, financial plans/reports, and various other documents.

* Review project schedule and resource expenditure workplans with the Project Manager and provide recommendations.

* Assist the Project Manager to initiate and prepare complex project management documents such as Project Change Requests, Funds Requests, Time Extensions, Cost Certifications, Quality Management Plan, and various other project management documents.

* Tracks project deadlines for submittal of critical documents such as those requiring California Transportation Commission approval or external stakeholder approval.

* Assist the Project Manager to manage and coordinate projects internal and external activities.

* Identify project conflicts and issues in a timely manner and elevate if unable to resolve directly.

* Respond to requests regarding tasks or milestone status and project delivery issues.

* Maintain open communication and provide timely and accurate information about project status to functional managers on a regular basis.

* Review and comment on various task deliverables.

* Provide District management with timely and accurate information about project status on a regular basis, including schedules and costs of project.

* Schedule project team meetings, reserve equipment, and coordinate attendance of project team members.

* Prepare and distribute project team meeting agendas, attend project meetings, record meeting minutes, and capture action items.

* Attends project engagement meetings with community members and other external stakeholders.

* Prepare project fact sheets.

* Work with Task Managers to provide updated data.

* Assist Project Manager in monitoring & managing project risks.

* Assist the Project Manager to ensure that all reasonable alternatives are explored before requesting changes. When a change is required, thoroughly document reasons for the change.

* Request management approval when changes are required to be made on project scope, cost, and schedules.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Solid project management skills; able to critically analyze and creatively solve issues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with related software and tools required to complete all job duties, including Microsoft Office- WORD, EXCEL, Powerpoint

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $30.00 - USD $114.00 /Hr.
