CMOS CAD Support Engineer - II

General Description:
The Mixed Signal Solutions department at HRL Laboratories is a talented team of scientists and engineers with backgrounds in integrated circuit design, advanced packaging, integration, and test of systems and subsystems for commercial and government applications. As part of this team, the CAD support engineer will interact with colleagues and tool vendors to help build and support a design tool infrastructure for maintaining an efficient work environment.

Essential Duties:
Interface with users of complex CAD tools (including integrated circuit design, circuit board design, and E&M simulation) to assist them with tool environment setup, PDK setup, customizing CAD flows, automation of tasks (e.g. through scripting), Physical Design Verification methodology, and debugging LVS/DRC issues at all levels of hierarchy.
Support and improve integrated circuit design flows for digital and mixed signal circuits including verification.

Required Skills:
At least two years as a CAD tool support engineer (Cadence, Synopsys, Calibre, and other EDA/CAD-related tools) with demonstrable experience in a broad range of circuit design, PCB design, E&M modeling, simulation and debug tools. Must be able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot PDK environments for semiconductor foundries. CMOS and bipolar transistor design flows, including deep submicron CMOS designs. Verification techniques for mixed signal VLSI ASIC designs.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Tcl, Python, C/C++).
Custom layout skills.
PDK development

Required Education:
BS or MS., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Related Discipline

Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active SSBI is a plus.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $99,705 - $124,683 + bonus + benefits.
