Job Overview:
The main responsibility of this role is to own the planning and execution of approximately 40 events per year. This position involves daily collaboration with other department leaders and developing strong relationships with vendor marketing counterparts. Within these vendor relationships, the Events specialist is responsible for collaborating with the senior team member to request funds for ongoing campaigns at a micro and macro level. In tandem with this responsibility, the person in this position is responsible for maintaining all of the event data in our internal systems.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Conducts short- and long-term event planning and management for external and internal events
Recommends, develops, and implements effective event plans for generating event revenue
Accountable for keeping our internal event data current and organized
Accountable for understanding and sharing critical event information that may need escalation and/or legal approval
Prep and lead weekly executive marketing meetings
Creates strong documentation, checklists, templates, and training materials for our department
Work directly with trade show managers to collect and carry out sponsorship opportunities
Expected to run their own event by their third month
Develop relationships with vendors and business partners
Negotiate pricing with vendors to optimize the pricing model for each event
Become an expert at understanding different business partner's marketing funds processes and guidelines
Preparing our sales reps for events
Set expectations for event outcomes and protocols
Assist sales management with post-event lead organization
Create pre-event materials, such as registration pages, pre-event logistics documents, schedules, etc.
Scaling the department
Iterating on existing job descriptions for new hires
Assist team lead with other marketing initiatives, including but not limited to website development and marketing collateral refreshes
Suggesting improvements or changes to our internal, custom software system and effectively communicating them to our CEO for review and approval
Qualifications:
University undergraduate degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Business Administration, and/or Psychology preferred.
4-6 years of high quantity corporate event management experience, preferably trade show management
Understanding of basic computer hardware and software required, including but not limited to advanced Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets experience. Greater understanding of technology and IT ecosystem preferred.
Although the expectation is that this role will be on site, there may be times when work will be done outside the office. Accordingly, the employee must be able to work remotely, independently, and unsupervised.
Candidates must have impeccable communications skills, an ability to multitask, and exceptional attention to detail. They should include a few sentences in their cover letter that briefly describes their favorite Magritte painting and why it's their favorite.
