Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Designer to join our Structural Design Group. The successful candidate will work on various projects for industrial, municipal, and federal clients. The candidate will work on project teams with structural, mechanical, process and electrical engineers, architects and designers on designs for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries. Project work includes: leading the structural Revit/CAD model creation and drawing production efforts on projects; directing structural designers in the preparation of construction drawings; and coordination with other engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost effective designs for new facilities, expansions, upgrades and retrofits.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage drawing lists and initiate production of contract drawings.
  • Annotate contract drawings and address redline mark-ups.
  • Understand information required for development of bid-ready drawings.
  • Comply with BIMxP/CADD Plan to achieve consistent results.
  • Coordinate and execute Navisworks model walkthroughs.
  • Perform daily model management and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain structural content and standard details.
  • Integrate REVIT products with other applications (Autodesk, construction phasing, cost estimation).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of BIM technologies and workflow.
  • Eager to support staff with positive attitude, passion, and patience.
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks Manage.
  • Familiarity with CRSI standards for reinforced concrete detailing and AISC structural steel detailing.
  • Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle, and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in professional environment preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional Autodesk products use and support preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NBIMS, NCS, AEC, a plus.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A:

Salary: $37.20 - $51.00

Location B:

Salary: $40.90 - $56.10

Location C:

Salary: $44.60 - $61.30
