Procurement Senior Manager, Supplier Risk
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our offices in Philadelphia, New York, Stamford, Atlanta, Denver, Washington DC, Miramar, Tampa, Prague, Lisbon, London, San Jose. You will be part of the Supplier Risk team within Optimize, McKinsey's global procurement function that enhances and protects the firm's resources and reputation by making responsible buying easy and creating leading solutions and experiences across our supplier ecosystem.This is a globally integrated team.
The Supplier Risk team leads and oversees the firm's global supplier risk management program. You will report to the Director of Supplier Risk Strategy and work cross-functionally with key stakeholders including Ethics & Compliance, Risk, Legal as you lead, shape, and deliver on the firm's supplier risk initiatives and strategies.
What You'll Do
You will report directly to the Director of Supplier Risk Strategy and be responsible for enhancing and drivinga best-in-class cross-risk and end-to-end supplier risk program. You will own the day-to-day management of the supplier risk program and ongoing development and implementation of McKinsey's supplier risk framework. You will function as a thought leader to ensure that the framework aligns with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and addresses emerging risks.
You will use your experience in regulatory compliance and reporting and lead the evaluation and improvement of the supplier risk program policies and processes to ensure compliance with new regulations such as EU supply chain due diligence and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. You will work with and leverage the power of data to make informed strategic decisions to address complex problems and supplier risks effectively. You will stay up to date on emerging regulations and rapidly evolving threats to develop insights and compelling recommendations to address these requirements. You have proficiency in proactively communicating and presenting recommendations to leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
You will foster strong partnerships and collaborate regularly with global risk team leaders and stakeholders including Ethics & Compliance, Sanctions, Finance, Global Social Responsibility, Category teams/ Sourcing and Legal. You will collaborate closely with these teams to align on strategic direction and ensure a coordinated approach. You will build and implement strategies to address a diverse range of challenges on a global level and manage multiple complex projects. You will also supervise direct reports and an extended team.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable record of impact, with at least 10 years of professional experience out of which a minimum of five years, in compliance or third-party risk management, ideally in a global firm
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and reporting related to supplier risk management
  • Firsthand experience of day-to-day supplier risk program management and development of risk assessment methodologies, internal controls, processes, and principles, preferably in indirect procurement
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative critical thinking skills and ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • Superior communication skills, ability to inspire confidence among senior leadership, build and maintain highly effective and collaborative relationships
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with ability to drive global projects to outcomes, including on cross-functional and complex topics
  • Experience leading teams and passion for people development
  • Professional, impartial, and independent attitude with a high degree of integrity
  • Strong professional computing skills, including Microsoft Office products (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a work-setting, knowing how to address and manage unpredictable outcomes.
