Overview

Looking to hire a Jr. SQL Administrator to provide AFRL Rocket Lab with qualified support staff to execute day-to-day operations and maintenance within the NOC. This effort provides support to the network/server infrastructure and equipment within the AFRL Rocket Lab.

Responsibilities

    Assist in the planning and upgrade of the NOC database.
  • Assist in the installation of hardware, configuration, and maintenance of NetApp appliances.
  • Assist with writing complex queries for application on an RDT&E network.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance on Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of enterprise database backup, recovery, and failover procedure.
  • Triage Network Operation Center level server ticket utilizing Web Help Desk.
  • Serve as a liaison for database related queries and technical support between NOC and customers.
  • Provide basic level hardware, software, network support and troubleshooting.
  • Provide support, administration, and maintenance for AFRL Rocket Lab specialized information systems.
  • Daily monitor of network and storage devices utilizing Solar Winds Orion software
  • Monitor and maintain uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices.
  • Document the problem with the technical detail(s) within the Web Help Desk ticket.
Qualifications

Required:

    • A minimum of two (2) years of MS SQL Server and SQL scripting experience including SQL.
    • Must satisfy IAT-11 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE)
    • Experience or knowledge creating packages, procedures, and functions on SQL.
    • Experience authoring, managing, and deploying solutions using Microsoft Server Manager (MSM).
    • Experience or knowledge of concepts and strategies in data integration.
    • Ability to create and maintain appropriate documentation.
    • Knowledge in one or more programs languages e.g., PowerShell, Python, Java, Batch, C++, etc.
  • Preferred:
    • SQL Certification e.g., MCSA, MSSQL
    • Prior System Administrator experience
