Essential Job Functions

  • Develop annual financial budgets and in-season forecasts by Department/Class/Brand including Sales, Margin, Inventory, Turn, and IMROI that reconcile with the total Company targets.
  • Be the financial and business go to for cross-functional team through informed, data-driven awareness of current and future trends in the business/industry.
  • Efficiently create business plans to address needs, opportunities, and risks and close gaps to our overall performance.
  • Demonstrate logical analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, and financially sound judgment to deliver ad hoc analysis, conclusions, and recommendations to all levels of the organization.
  • Influence, impact, and accurately plan for clearance and markdown activities for Petco.
  • Demonstrate initiative to work both independently and in cross-functional teams while managing multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Interact professionally and effectively through excellent written and oral communication skills to all levels of the organization.
  • Be a mature retail professional who is highly motivated, has a strong professional presence, and works with cross-functional teams in an effective and collaborative manner.
  • Partner with the Sr. Merchandise Planner, Merchandise Planning Manager, and Merchandise Director to provide ongoing strategic direction and ensure seamless execution of Budget/in-season forecast.
  • Partner with Manager/Director of Planning & Inventory in the review process of financial analysis and deliverables.
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and prioritize under tight deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, operations, economics, business, or statistics required.
  • 2+ years of planning experience, with retail planning preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for retail math and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment with a strong sense of urgency required.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to advance to intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities; preferred exposure to relevant planning, finance, analytical, and data management systems - Oracle Merchandise Financial Planning, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • Ability to influence critical stakeholders, proactively problem solve, and recommend solutions.
  • Build collaborative partnerships cross-functionally.

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

$64,800.00 - $97,200.00
