Job Description

EBAD seeks a capable individual for the position of Test Engineer Lead,reporting to the Manager of Test Services. This position is responsible for supervision of the Test Engineer Staff and running test programs at the Moorpark, CA location. The Test Engineering lead is responsible for training, goal setting, work assignments, continuous improvement, and managing the day-to-day operation of the test engineering group.

Responsibilities:

TheTest Engineer leadprovides guidance and support for testing of EBAD products, test lab capability growth and technical problem solving. The responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supervision of the Test Engineering Staff
  • Day-to-day operations and execution of projects within test
  • Ownership and understanding of test capabilities as it compares to Test Procedures
  • Requirements Evaluation, Test Program Scope / Cost, and Test Program Scheduling
  • Host and lead Test Readiness Reviews, for both internal and external customers
  • Equipment / Instrumentation Selection, Results / Data Interpretation and verification, Data Report Creation
  • Training, Method Development & Prove-out, Continuous Improvement, Test Process Documentation
  • Troubleshooting, Fixture/Tool Design & Procurement
  • Lead efforts to improve testing capabilities, hardware, documentation, and processes.

Requirements:

  • The candidate shall have a minimum of a BS degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering preferred) and applicable experience. Non-degreed candidates will be considered if they have a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in a test lab environment.
  • Leadership experience is beneficial.
  • Candidates shall have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to interface with individuals at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are required. Knowledge of explosive materials and/or ordnance devices is beneficial.
  • Electronics and instrumentation knowledge is preferred. Experience working in an aerospace industry is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in a test lab environment with exposure to the following areas:

Climatic Testing

  • Thermal Cycling & Shock
  • Temperature & Humidity
  • Temperature & Vacuum / Altitude

Dynamic Testing

  • Random & Sine Vibration
  • Classical & SRS Shock
  • Acceleration

Instrumentation

  • Pressure Transducers
  • Accelerometers
  • Oscilloscopes & Data Acquisition Systems (DAQs)
  • Charge Amplifiers & Signal Conditioners
  • Constant Current Supplies
  • Digital and Analog Filters
  • Various meters (multi-meters, milliohm-meters, HR meters)
  • Hi-Pot testers
  • Thermocouples & Humidity Probes

Compensation:

Salary Range: $90,000-$135,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
