Job Description

The AO provides Director's Action Group (DAG) support in accordance with (IAW) established organizational/office policies, regulations, and procedures. The AO directs and oversees the receipt, tasking, tracking, and closure of all internal and external tasks. The AO manages the action tracking system. The AO establishes and maintains effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders of the Directorate/Office both internally and externally.

The AO support within Business Plans and Operations/Office of the Director/Management Staff (BPO/ODIR/MS) covers a variety of management support activities serving the entire BPO Enterprise and Senior BPO Leadership Team. The AO serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on NRO TIER action processes, enterprise relationships internal and external to the BPO Directorate. The AO is also responsible for editing and production of action documentation for executive leadership review, serves as the BPO action control gate by reviewing and assessing actions before tasking appropriate personnel by identifying action risks (positive/negative), timelines, resource availability, and potentially drafting responses for consideration based on prior expertise or prior action responses.

Tasks:

  • Perform and maintain DAG support functions to include recognition programs, training, security
  • Manage NRO Tracking Information and Enterprise Response (TIER) actions for supported office
  • Analyze and assign or perform actions as appropriate
  • Coordinate responses and assess for accuracy prior to senior management review
  • Manage and execute the action tracking process; develop standard operating procedures and serve as facilitator for user requirements
  • Monitor progress on actions, generate metrics to demonstrate accountability for meeting deadlines and quality expectations; prepare periodic reports on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending and new actions
  • Disseminate policy and legislative changes to appropriate parties internal to the NRO
  • Draft, proofread, edit and provide final review of internal and external correspondence
  • Coordinate and maintain presentations for audiences up to the NRO level; maintain a quality control process for all presentations
  • Participate in DAG-related meetings
  • Participate in internal committees, Integrated Process Teams (IPT), working groups and task forces
  • Manage records generated during the execution of the Directorates' projects and programs in accordance with Federal laws and regulations, as well as NRO Directives and Instructions.
  • Lead, develop, and streamline DAG support functions
  • Identify internal and external issues that may impact the NRO and take appropriate action as approved by the U.S. Government
  • Draft, consolidate, coordinate, and edit executive-level documentation to ensure consistency with organizational strategic objectives; apply an in-depth knowledge and understanding of DoD/IC issues, policies, programs, and procedures affecting the NRO
  • Make recommendations and prepare briefings, point papers, and other materials based on analysis of complex policy issues and documents
  • Participate in external committees, Integrated Process Teams (IPTs), working groups, and task forces
  • Ensure critical information is disseminated to internal and external agencies including the OSD, ODNI, and mission partner equivalent offices

Job Requirements

Desired Skill Set

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: federal acquisitions, Department of Defense (DoD) or the /Intelligence Community (IC) budget & finance processes, and National Security policy
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering or project/ program management or both.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives at multiple organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Demonstrated experience adapting to a rapidly changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and versatility
  • Demonstrated experience fostering solid relationships that promote cooperation and communicate expectations
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and make well informed decision
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience
  • Senior Level AOs possess the same desired skill set as the Intermediate Level. Desired Education and Relevant Experience outlined in the below table below.
  • Demonstrated experience in one (1) or more of the following areas: federal acquisitions, DoD or the IC budget and finance processes, and National Security Policy
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives at multiple organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and standard computer applications

Clearance: TS/SCI w/ CI Poly

Education:Bachelor's Degree in a Technical OR Business-related discipline (Advanced degree preferred) AND10 years *relevant experience with any Government OR Target 7 years within IC or DOD ORBachelor's Degree in any discipline AND12 years*relevant experience within IC or DoD with 6 of those 12 years within NRO (*NRO, IC, then DoD work experience is desired in order of preference)

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role mostly sitting; however, some filing may be required . This would require the ability to move files, or boxes with file data, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Mental Demands: Reading; communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control and professionalism.
