The Director, Permitting, for AES Clean Energy (AESCE) will report to the Vice President, Permitting and Real Estate. The Director will provide leadership to the regional permitting SME team (team) to successfully meet AESCE's goals to enable a clean energy transition. This position will work with other regional directors to lead the improvement of processes and provide the tools needed for the SME teams to effectively support project development of renewable energy projects throughout the central region.
This role requires the ability to manage, grow and retain a team of highly effective SMEs, work on multiple tasks, strategies, and special projects that support the VP, and includes travel to multiple offices within the US. The successful candidate will be a strong and compassionate leader, effective communicator, and able to develop relationships across a large cross-functional team that includes origination, project development, legal, finance, engineering, and construction.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
