We are currently looking for an Lead Chemistry Lab Technician Lead to join our growing team!

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Chemistry Lab Technician conducts chemical testing on raw materials, in process materials and finished products. Oversee the activities of select associates and assistants.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In a timely fashion, prepares and standardizes all reagents necessary to perform tests.
  • Performs chemical testing by accurately following all SOP's and laboratory methods.
  • Actively participates in Quality Control tests on proficiency samples, IRM's and any other check samples deemed appropriate by the Chemistry Department Manager.
  • Accurately reports results for tests.
  • Directs the activities of the Associates and Assistants to ensure the timeliness, accuracy and reliability of the work.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Chemistry manager/supervisor.
  • Keep the manager/supervisor informed of issues or problems within the department.
  • Ensures the department daily work load is balanced between all Chemistry Associates and Assistants.
  • Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Science and appropriate industry specific experience or BS degree in Chemistry.
  • Good conceptual basis in chemistry with proven ability to perform basic chemistry techniques.
  • Critical thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills - ability to use your time, energy, resources, etc. in an effective manner.
  • Time management - one's own time and the time of others.
  • Training - teaching and guiding others how to complete a process from beginning to end.
  • Strong relevant qualitative and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent arithmetic skills - using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Good communication skills - speaking, reading, writing and listening.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

Monday - Friday, Weekend rotation as needed
12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Overtime as needed
