Join us as an Injection Molding Set-Up Technician in our Moorpark, CA facility.

You will... Ensure safety, quality, and customer service and cost control. Be proactive in mold change process and quality improvements. Improve and document standard mold change activity for Injection molding machines and secondary equipment.

  • The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is: $15.38- $28.55. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be determined by considering demonstrable level of experience, skills, knowledge, and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

More details about the opportunity:

  • Responsible for injection machine set up using established procedures by properly installing molds, water lines, temperature controllers, oil lines and other required tooling pertaining to the scheduled jobs.
  • Required to operate various injection machines as required.
  • Responsible for all machine auxiliary equipment set up and trouble shooting.
  • Assure mold changes are done per the defined procedures and standard.
  • Perform mold changes in timely, safe manner to ensure the machines are ready to run conforming product.
  • Participate in developing action plans to resolve problems: safety, quality, delivery, production and 5S.
  • Notify team leads (as assigned by shift leadership) that maintenance work orders are needed.
  • Document improvements and problems by completing end of run paperwork (Mold, press, secondary, etc.)
  • Must perform mold change tasks with the appropriate tools and tooling, i.e., overhead crane, forklifts and assigned toolboxes.
  • Assist in Operator training of other team members.
  • Assist in Set-up training of other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of injection molding, one to two plus years of Injection molding experience on presses ranging from 50 to 1500 tons.
  • Ability to learn how to operate a variety of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (Dryers, Thermolaters, temperature controllers.
  • Must be capable of performing a variety of production operations incidental to the manufacturing of various items or devices produced in the department.
  • Energetic and self-starter.
  • Must be a team player with good communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand written, visual and oral instructions.
  • Able to use a variety of hand tools in department, including but not limited to, air guns, screwdrivers, wrenches and other power hand tools.

Position hours/shift available:

  • 2nd shift
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

  • In order to accommodate the needs of our business, it may be necessary to change individual work schedules on either a short-term or long-term basis.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Injection Molding preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This Job requires standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination and a physical ability to do repetitive motions with arms, hands and fingers.
  • These requirements range from frequent to continuous movement ranging in application between six to twelve hours per day.
