Overview:

The Technical Instructor delivers training through direct in-person deliveries, remote deliveries, and creates indirect training for computer-based training. The instructor will train personnel to follow the steps of released procedures for safe, accurate, and complete task performance. The instructor will have to train both internal (Veeco Field Service Engineers) and external (Customer Operators and Maintenance Personnel). The instructor creates training packages for new systems and topics including collaborating with others to identify the Learning Objectives and creating the training material based on the identified objectives. The instructor also converts existing training material into Computer Based Training output to be uploaded to a Learning Management System and uses the Learning Management System to schedule and track attendance. Finally, the Technical Instructor assists Technical Writers with system documentation and verifying and validating procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule training deliveries.
  • Deliver training both in person and remotely.
  • Develop training material for both customer and internal training.
  • Train performance of specific, released procedures.
  • Uses a Learning Management System to both deliver and track course completion.
  • Delivers in person training including verbal and written knowledge checks for understanding.
  • Delivers remote training including multiple styles of information- documentation, drawings, models, simulators, etc.
  • Delivers training to Customer (External) and Field Service (Internal) personnel.
  • Trains personnel to correctly perform published released procedures.
  • Collaborates to create Learning Objectives for a given topic, task, or delivery.
  • Creates Training Packages based on identified Learning Objectives
  • Creates System Training Packages- System Overview, Subsystem and Major Assembly Overview, System Operations, and System Software Operations
  • Converts existing training material for Computer Based Training and uploads to a Learning Management System, including audio and other multi-media output.
  • Schedules and Records Attendance in Learning Management System interface
  • Assists Technical Writers with verifying procedure accuracy and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or a degree from a technical university (ITT, DeVry, etc.), with 5 years' experience in the Technical Support or Field Service arena, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Technical background in the semiconductor or technical manufacturing field is a required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to create training presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations to small group of personnel.
  • Proven ability to gather, organize, and present information in appropriate media to the specific audience.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and background knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing field.
  • Software proficiencies: Adobe Acrobat, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Work with product marketing group to understand customer requirements, including basic tool and all possible options.

The expected salary range for this position is $94,500.00 - $119,700.00 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
