Overview

LMI is seeking an Education Technologist/Specialist. This position will support NASA's workforce experience activities for students grades K-16 with a STEM focus. This position requires the ability to obtain a public trust clearance. Work to be performed onsite at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA.

NASA Internships are part of NASA's Office of STEM Engagement's portfolio of activities and enrichment. NASA Internships are designed to build a diverse future STEM workforce by engaging students in authentic learning experiences and leveraging NASA's unique mission through NASA's people, content, and facilities. NASA Internships achieves these goals by exposing students and educators, who reflect the full diversity of the nation, to NASA missions. Participants will undertake mentor-guided internships at NASA field centers and facilities under the tutelage of NASA scientists, engineers, and others, or may be embedded with research teams working on NASA-related STEM activities at aerospace contractors, government research laboratories, or academic institutions. While the primary focus of internships is STEM-related, internships in professional support areas needed for NASA to achieve its mission (e.g., finance, communications, human resources, etc.) are also included. The goal is to implement a quality, hands-on experiential learning experience which offers talented students from a broad cross-section of academic institutions exposure to NASA. NASA Internships includes high school through post-graduate students as well as educators. Internship opportunities are available in the spring, summer, fall, and year-long.

Responsibilities
    Provide onsite support to NASA Ames Research Center.
  • Provide support and assistance in the use of NASA's online application and registration system for internships, fellowships, academic, research, professional development opportunities, and other learning experiences.
  • Provide educational workshops in-person and virtually for students and adult learners.
  • Manage communication and engagement with center-based points of contact.
  • Support recruitment activities to attract a diverse cohort of participants.
  • Receive and review applications and aid in the selection of a diverse cohort of participants.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators and measures of success.
  • Analyze and summarize disparate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Draft data collection methodologies and coordinate with appropriate organizations.
  • Perform special projects as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred)
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to travel to and work on client sites as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
