Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Warehouse and Distribution Operations will oversee the day-to-day planning & direction of warehousing and distribution functions including receiving, storage, shipping, material movements, Kanban development and replenishment, inventory management and cycle count, fulfillment operations and will facilitate other internal inventory requests for goods and supplies through intra-company deliveries, and external logistics partnerships. This role will partner with and engage with key internal stakeholder groups, such as Supply Chain, Logistics, R&D, Lab, Real Estate, SAP, Facilities, IT, and others to execute on company's business objectives. The Senior Manager, Warehouse and Distribution Operations will be responsible for a team primarily focused on the movement/storage of goods across various Exact Sciences locations.

Essential Duties

  • Oversees policies and processes of receiving, storage, and shipping.
  • Establish vision, strategy, and metrics for the Warehouse and Distribution department.
  • Oversees management of receiving activities within the warehouses to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of goods.
  • Lead effort and provide directions on achieving high product availability and inventory accuracy.
  • Supports development of safety and security policies and procedures for warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Identifies and implements appropriate equipment and systems to support efficient warehouse operations. Including but not limited to racking, material handling equipment, labeling, warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Monitors processes for opportunities to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process to understand supply demand required to support associated commercial products.
  • Collaborate with material planners in forecasting of and performing change control for consumables and reagent materials used in the lab.
  • Develop and improve 3PL material storage and shipping, driving movement and cost productivity.
  • Maintain relationships, and benchmark with sister sites to continually look for process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure requisition materials maintain designated inventory levels.
  • Improve warehouse and materials cost productivity through cost savings and avoidance projects.
  • Establish and maintain quality records, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) or study protocols, as directed.
  • Maintain inventory and associated records for raw materials, intermediates, disposables, consumables, reagents, and spare parts.
  • Ensures compliance within the department according to IATA and DOT regulations.
  • Handle products using material handling equipment as necessary.
  • Develops staff through training and provides training to new employees in areas of expertise.
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs and takes necessary actions when targets are not met.
  • Effectively manage, support, and guide your team, including, but not limited to delegating tasks and responsibilities, assessing employee performance, and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to travel between Exact Science locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a field as outlined in the essential duties; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of experience in a field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 10+ years of experience in an operations role in a field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 5+ years of leading people and teams.
  • 3+ years of experience with Warehouse Management/ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and IATA regulations.
  • Possession or ability to obtain a forklift certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
  • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
  • No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee, including but not limited to Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) failure, refusal to submit to alcohol or drug test, alcohol related suspension, etc. in the last 36 months.
  • No other results from the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that exposes Exact Sciences to what Exact Sciences deems to be an unacceptable level of liability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of SAP experience.
  • Experience with cold chain shipping.
  • Demonstrated understanding of less than load (LTL) and full truckload (FTL) carriers.
  • Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO 13485 environment.

Salary Range:

$131,000.00 - $209,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - CA - Redwood City on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
