Overview

We are hiring a Human Resources Business Partner to support Human Resources initiatives. The Human Resources Business Partner will do tactical and strategic work that addresses the business needs of FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific. This role is responsible to create trusted relationships at all levels of the organization and plays a key role in driving several HR programs and processes. Areas of primary focus include performance management, employee development and coaching, employee engagement, employee communication and talent management including onboarding and mentoring. The HR Business partner must also possess knowledge and expertise in the areas of compensation, job analysis, HRIS systems and policy guidance.

Responsibilities

    Assist in driving HR initiatives that foster a high-performance culture of accountability and results-orientation linking organizational and employee performance to top level goals.
  • Proactively partner with business unit managers to optimize employee capabilities and deliver against business objective and priorities.
  • Act as a first point of contact for assigned client groups. Experience supporting employees overseas preferred.
  • Participate in regular meetings with client groups; team meetings, leader 1 on 1's, etc.
  • Build strong partnerships with employees at all levels to foster trust and accountability throughout the organization while providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations, including required documentation.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of federal and state legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with Legal department as needed.
  • Takes a leadership role in facilitating performance management processes including EPDR, goal setting, coaching, feedback and employee development; facilitate performance management training.
  • Support and identify training and development needs for client groups and individual employees and lead the talent review and succession planning efforts for assigned client groups.
  • Drive cross-functional employee engagement initiatives; create and conduct employee surveys and focus groups; identify employee concerns and partner with leadership and employees to develop and implement action plans and retention strategies.
  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and analyze staffing strategy; coach to optimize talent engagement by supporting and facilitating effective onboarding practices.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic HR client support for onsite and remote employees.
  • Experience across all HR areas associated with this role including, performance management, employee relations, policy, compensation, benefits, onboarding, engagement, talent development, talent acquisition, etc. as well as client coach and consultant.
  • Up to date knowledge of current federal/state regulations related to employment. CA employment law required.
  • Experience creating, facilitating, presenting and leading performance management processes including goal setting, coaching, feedback, calibration and employee/manager meetings.
  • Ability to maintain and safeguard confidential information and provide a positive image for the company in all situations (internally and externally).
  • Solid understanding and user knowledge of HRIS, applicant tracking and employee development systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), etc.
  • Strengthen overall organizational capabilities working with managers and leaders to include organizational assessment, organizational structure, workforce planning and change management.
  • Serve as champion of company culture, modeling Company standards and deliver an exceptional employee experience.
  • Takes a lead role in restructuring activities to ensure fair and consistent decision making. Prepares legal review documentation and participates in all termination meetings.
  • Support HR process improvement initiatives through research and application of industry best practices to ensure the highest standards of service.
  • Review compensation information to understand impacts to employee pay and budget with a review of fairness and equity while providing leadership with complete information needed to ensure excellent decision making.
  • Provide relevant reports and analytics that move tasks, projects and the organization forward with an eye on continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of ATS features and processes with the ability to assist leaders, troubleshoot and research information.
  • Manage and support employee recognition programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead HR and support HR projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor degree in a related area. Master degree preferred.
  • 6+ years strategic HRBP experience in healthcare, Pharma or Manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Possession of the highest level of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Organization, initiative, follow through, influence, problem solving, decision-making, accountability and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with ADP or the ability to quickly learn HRIS, payroll and similar employee management software.
  • Understanding of Cornerstone or other performance management and development programs and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills; ability to use formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Able to establish and maintain highly productive interdepartmental cooperative relations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $101,000.00 - $178,000 - Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
