Job Description

PPG Aerospace in Mojave, CA has an exciting onsite opportunity for a Project Engineer. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you'll oversee engineering projects, some of which may be related to Process Safety Management (PSM) and mechanical integrity of our Aerospace batch manufacturing facility where we create protective coatings and sealants that are vital to the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write compelling project proposals to secure capital funding and efficiently manage resources to ensure projects are completed within budget
  • Plan and complete projects aligned with engineering and site objectives
  • Manage projects pertaining to mechanical integrity of equipment and site
  • Strategically plan tasks to provide exposure and acclimatization to engineering staff, methods, and programs of the company
  • Offer effective engineering solutions to problems and diligently work towards resolution
  • Gather and assess data for site engineering assignments
  • Formulate plans for assignments which may involve design application
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to meet project deadlines
  • Occasional travel may be necessary

Qualifications:

  • Two (2)years of experience in project management and mechanical integrity within construction, manufacturing, process, or design engineering required
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field required
  • Prior experience in managing industrial and construction contractors and Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Salary Range: $80,000 to $95,000 Depending on experience
