OVERVIEW

The Talent Acquisition Business Partner (TABP) acts as a strategic partner within Sage by identifying top talent for our talent acquisition function. The person in this position will conduct full-cycle recruiting, from sourcing talent and attracting candidates to interviewing and supporting the hiring of great employees. The TABP will collaborate and strategize with Sage's leaders to proactively identify future hiring needs and develop a talent pipeline.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment effort for all levels (exempt and nonexempt) in all areas of the business, including conducting initial screenings/interviews; passing qualified candidates to managers; working with the external vendor to conduct background screening; authoring formal written offer letters; and extending employment offers.
  • Meet with hiring managers and conduct recruitment strategy meetings to review and agree upon specific recruiting plans and strategies for approved open positions.
  • Work with hiring manager to ensure a job description is created for all new positions and/or updated for replacement positions.
  • Create text for recruitment advertising and review with hiring managers to ensure job description is properly reflected.
  • Provide training support to managers on the applicant tracking system (or point them to the resource page).
  • Provide support to managers in developing/formulating interview questions using Sage's question banks as needed.
  • Determine most effective placement of recruitment advertising/posting to ensure all approved positions are filled with a diverse group of the most qualified and appropriate candidates at the lowest cost in the least amount of time using a variety of recruiting techniques and avenues.
  • Source candidates through the necessary recruiting tools to include LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, resume databases, technical and niche job boards, and creative sourcing techniques to develop candidate pools made of talented and qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Be a subject matter expert in leveraging LinkedIn, cold calls, and other tools to identify passive candidates.
  • Develop and maintain a database of qualified academic publishing professionals.
  • Promote Sage and Corwin as an Affirmative Action employer by evaluating recruitment strategies to ensure we are reaching out to the appropriate sources to find diverse and qualified candidates for the company's open positions. Utilizing Sage's annual AAP report, create additional recruiting strategies and opportunities to address any identified areas with the AAP.
  • Create, implement, and support strategies for continuous improvement on promoting Sage as the Employer of Choice.
  • Represent Sage by developing and maintaining professional relationships with college, university, and community placement offices; employment agencies (both contingency search and temporary); advertising agencies; etc. and attend appropriate job/career fairs as a source to generate qualified applicants.
  • Process Employee Referral Bonuses, at initial hire and at appropriate intervals.
  • Track, analyze, and prepare hiring data, specifically including recruiting activity report, DEI reporting, etc.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of company HR policies, procedures and programs as well as employment law including federal, state, and local as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive corporate, exempt and nonexempt level, talent acquisition experience with a mid- to large-size company.
  • Working knowledge of recruitment strategies within various social networking sites, job boards, niche communities, universities, etc.
  • Working knowledge of employment law, both federal and state.
  • Previous experience with an applicant tracking system preferred.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite of products

    Compensation at Sage is influenced by several factors, including but not limited to skill set, nature and level of experience, qualifications, and other relevant considerations. The salary range for this position is $80K - $100K. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonuses or benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the additional aspects of the compensation/benefits package for this position during the hiring process.
