Social Content Creator

Weber Shandwick - Detroit

TheDetroit officeof Weber Shandwick is seeking an enthusiastic Social Content Creator to join our collaborative team and help us make fun, shareworthy content for one of our largest clients. As a content creator, you'll discover trends daily, pitch ideas, work with other creatives, and be hands-on with our in-house producers making content - from concepting, capturing, editing and publishing. You should have an innate knowledge of key social platforms and a curiosity about our client's brand.

Resonsibilities

  • Scour social media for the coolest trends and viral content.
  • Share trends with the broader agency team to inspire more ideas.
  • Pitch ideas for stills and videos that are fresh, fun and align with the brand.
  • Propose content that resonates with our client's target audience and gets shared.
  • Work hands-on with a team to bring the ideas to life, including shooting, editing, creating stills/video/graphics.
  • With a focus on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube
  • Build knowledge of the client products and understand how to talk about them in social
  • Synthesize concepts in clear, concise and client facing manner
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross functional agency teams, both written and oral
  • Ultimately, collaborate with diverse teams to turn ideas into social content gold!

Skills and Requirements

  • You love social media and can't stop engaging with it!
  • Must be a self-starter, with a record of working collaboratively, quickly and with minimal oversight.
  • An understanding of what works - and doesn't - in social media.
  • Innate curiosity and 'in the culture' mentality
  • A passion for creativity and pop culture (e.g., film, design, art, graphics, editing, etc.)
  • A keen eye for detail and a critical mind
  • Ability to scripts, shoot and edits short-form social video
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of social media best practices
  • Portfolio or social media presence with social video, photography and stills

[California/Washington] Salary range: $66,600-$80,000

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
