Job Description

Position:
* Seeking a skilled Data Lake Architect and Researcher with a focus on cybersecurity.
* The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding the development of a robust data lake tailored to cybersecurity needs.
* This data lake will serve as a foundational resource for AI-driven threat intelligence, connecting several SaaS services and managed solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Research and Analysis:
* Conduct in-depth research to identify and understand gaps in the current cybersecurity product landscape.
* Analyze market trends, emerging threats, and technological advancements to propose necessary features and improvements.
* Data Lake Architecture Design:
* Design the architecture of the data lake, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and efficient.
* The architecture should facilitate the integration, storage, and management of vast amounts of data from diverse sources.
* Feature Proposal:
* Develop detailed proposals for new features and enhancements based on research findings.
* Collaborate with product development teams to prioritize and integrate these features into the roadmap.
* AI Integration:
* Work closely with AI teams and FortiGuard Threat Research Labs to ensure the data lake supports advanced AI-driven analytics for generating threat intelligence and other cybersecurity applications.
* Compliance and Security:
* Ensure the data lake architecture complies with relevant data protection and privacy laws.
* Implement best practices in data security to safeguard against potential threats.
* Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Engage with various stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and cybersecurity experts, to align the data lake development with organizational goals and user needs.
* Continuous Improvement:
* Monitor the performance and utility of the data lake, proposing and implementing enhancements to maintain its relevance and effectiveness in the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
* Proven experience in designing and implementing data lakes, preferably with a focus on cybersecurity.
* Strong understanding of data architecture principles, big data technologies, and AI applications in cybersecurity.
* Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, SnowFlake etc ) and big data technologies (eg. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, ETL Pipelines )
* Familiarity with data privacy laws and standards (GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001).
* Knowledge of cybersecurity threats, trends, and countermeasures.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000-$235,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion.
