We're actively seeking a talented Lead Integrations Architect/Engineer to join our Workforce Benefits Technology team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid or 100% remote.

Reporting to the Director and Product Owner of Integrations, the Lead Integrations Architect/Engineer will partner with our functional areas and corporate teams to build technical integration capabilities and deliver a highly integrated framework of solution providers for the Workforce Benefit Division (WBD). This Lead API Architect will be responsible for the design of architecture, patterns, and technology solutions to guide the build of API-led integration solutions to build a connected WBD digital ecosystem and seamlessly exchange data between systems. This role will serve as a valued partner across the Workforce Benefits functions to provide real-time access to data, enabling enhanced decision-making and customer service by designing and supporting the build of a connected digital framework.



How you will make an impact:

  • Develop integrations solutions architecture, in conjunction with WBD enterprise architecture, to build integrated data exchanges between internal and external partner systems to solve critical business problems
  • Sythesize customer journeys, capability maps, and business processes to build integration technology architecture designs and patterns that deliver on business strategy goals to automate enrollment, claims handling, and document generation
  • Define target state and reference architectures for system, process and experience APIs and API security frameworks to guide WBD's delivery teams and ensure consistency
  • Create appropriate requirements and documentation including process flows, technical system specifications, sequence flow diagrams, source to target mappings
  • Contribute to planning, organizing, and designing components of the technology strategy through the synthesis of business strategy and technology capabilities needed to support it
  • Mentor and grow solutions analysts to contribute to integrations architecture designs and further advance our enterprise architecture pipeline
  • Set up an integrations architecture review process and ensure solutions incorporate reusable, scalable, efficient, secure and maintainable design principles. Partner with enterprise architects to ensure all designs are in line with divisional and enterprise standards
  • Work within a Scaled Agile framework, ensuring work is laid out in the team backlog, that design stories are prioritized appropriately based on business needs and that requirements and success criteria are set
  • Partner with the PL Technology platform owners to develop and plan the roadmap for technical platform services that support integration priorities.
  • Form and enact integration governance principles and best practices for designing, managing and building APIs. Establish highest standards for security frameworks, including network and service, data, identity and access, and business and application security.
  • Document and maintain the catalog of enterprise integration points, including internal, external, and partners APIs as well as internally reusable APIs and other integration resources.
  • Research innovations in cutting-edge integration technology. Work with PL Technology Center for Excellence (C4E) to propose changes and develop migration and implementation plans.
  • Based on production release and UAT schedules, this role may be expected to provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance outside of regular working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel approximately 15-25% of the time.


The experience you will bring:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience as a solution analyst or solution architect with increasing scope of responsibilities
  • 8+ years expertise in development or deployment of cutting-edge integration approaches, technologies and platforms including RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures with tools like Apache Kafka, and ETL frameworks
  • 5+ years experience with modern cloud integration platforms, especially AWS services and electronic data interchange (EDI)
  • Experience designing to API security standards and systems like OKTA, OAUTH 2



What will make you stand out:

  • 5+ years of experience developing orchestration, file transfer, and data transformation strategies with technologies including Mulesoft, Snowflake, and Control-M
  • 3+ years of experience in Group Benefits insurance data domains, including Distribution, Product, Underwriting, Enrollment, Finance, Billing, and Claims
  • Experience with EIS administration system or other micro-services administration platforms

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$144,630.00 - $176,770.00
