JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional reports to the Program Director and provides mental health clinical services to clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide mental health services to children, youth and families including but not limited to assessment, crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, plan development, group therapy and case management.
  2. Will provide mental health services to children, youth and care providers in settings such as client residence, school, community locations, tele-health and clinic sites.
  3. In accordance to program, county and state requirements, will document service provision of full-scope Medi-Cal and Short-Doyle beneficiaries under the age of 21 with comprehensive, high-quality array of preventive (such as screening), diagnostic, and treatment services under Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment Services (EPSDT).
  4. Will develop Consumer Wellness Plans for each assigned client, identifying symptoms, resulting impairments, objectives and treatment goals, identifying the indicated services that guide service provision.
  5. Maintain a caseload of clients, monitor and coordinate mental health services as outlined in Consumer Wellness Plan ensuring individualized and family-focused mental health treatment.
  6. As part of a treatment team, coordinate service delivery with Mental Health Rehabilitation Providers, Licensed Vocational Nurses/Licensed Psychiatric Technicians, Psychiatrists and Administrative staff.
  7. Will collaborate with Community Partners to help coordinate care, identify resources to help reduce barriers for clients and families receiving mental health treatment
  8. Will complete progress notes documenting service provision in electronic medical record (EMR) in timely manner and in accordance to standards designated by Program Director.
  9. Will comply with program standards for documentation, evidence-based practices, treatment planning, discharge planning and other indicators of quality assurance.
  10. Regular attendance to team/staff meetings.
  11. Complete 40 hours of training specific to a Mental Health Professional.
  12. Employees shall follow the reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.
  13. Will drive on Agency business.
  14. Physical presence at the office is required.
  15. Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Licensed preferred: Licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker or Marriage Family Child Therapist.
  2. Hours Completed: A Master's degree in behavioral science with a current intern registration (M.F.T. or L.C.S.W.) and hours completed.
  3. Unlicensed: A Master's degree in behavioral science with current intern registration (M.F.T. or L.C.S.W.).
  4. Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
  5. Knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.
  6. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  8. Ability to operate tele-health platforms.
  9. Must be available by cell phone as needed.
  10. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
  11. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
  12. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  13. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BILINGUAL SKILL

  1. Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
  2. Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
  3. Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients.
  4. Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis.
  5. Minimal adequate competency in the Spanish language as evidenced by successful passage of the TPOCC Spanish Competency Test.
  6. Other translation tasks as required.

    • Monolingual/Masters: Class 167 ($67,353.47- $81,945.79Annually)
    • Monolingual/Licensed: Class 177 ($68,787.12 - $90,519.16 Annually)
