Job Description

Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA AND. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

The Corporate & Digital Communications Manager will support the execution of Acadia's internal and external Corporate brand strategy with a specific focus on our corporate digital channels and activities, helping to build visibility and awareness of Acadia among key stakeholders and audiences. This role will work closely with internal stakeholder and agency partners to maintain an editorial calendar aligned across channels, as well as develop and manage digital content and other corporate communications materials. This individual will also be responsible for reporting and analyzing analytics from Acadia's digital channels, providing key insights and industry best practices on how to best amplify Acadia's presence via the digital landscape.

Primary Responsibilities:

Digital and Social Media (60%)

  • Oversee and update Acadia's corporate digital channels, including social media, ensuring all content is current and effectively communicated. This includes overseeing the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process and monitoring the progress of materials.
  • Regularly monitor corporate and broader social media landscapes, escalating significant reports as necessary. Lead the development of performance reports for digital channels, providing insights and recommendations for optimization. Serve as the go-to expert for digital trends, leveraging industry best practices and analytics to enhance Acadia's digital presence.
  • Draft and edit content, as needed, for a variety of digital communications platforms, including the corporate website, social media, internal intranet, and email, ensuring alignment with Acadia's strategic goals. Oversee the internal review process for external-facing content, as needed.

Corporate Communications (40%)

  • Organize and maintain corporate communication assets and materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible within the digital asset management system. This includes supporting both external and internal communication needs.
  • Manage the corporate communications editorial calendar, ensuring it accurately reflects key milestones and supports integrated program planning. This role is critical for maintaining a cohesive narrative across all corporate communications channels and audiences.
  • Support planning and execution of various earned media workstreams including creative and strategic input, research, content review and approval, and editing and quality management for distribution of press releases, company statements and other external facing content.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree required; journalism or communications-related discipline preferred. 5 years of experience within Communications or Marketing function with focus and experience in supporting digital platforms; biotech/pharmaceutical background is strongly preferred. Combination of agency and in-house experience preferred. Experience in CNS disorders and/or commercial launch experience are a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital tools.
  • Self-starter, motivated, with a proven ability to find solutions and champion innovative strategies for storytelling and digital experiences that resonate with target audiences and yield measurable outcomes.
  • Thoughtful and able to recommend and encourage the adoption of new and creative approaches to enhance Acadia's brand visibility and engagement.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and execute communications initiatives in an environment with rapidly-evolving business imperatives.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through skills.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans and correlating metrics while managing competing priorities.
  • Regarded as a proven and respected communications consultant to key leaders within an organization.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and fluency in topical health care news and industry trends, as well as a deep understanding of public perception and issues as they pertain to the industry.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of target audience, highly effective writing style and expertise in high-impact messaging to broad audiences. Ability to articulate complex information in simple and relatable terms.
  • Strong interest and aptitude for understanding the biopharmaceutical industry and the company, and the ability to collaborate with all personnel throughout the company, as well as external audiences.
  • Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative, and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk, or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$91,000-$113,300 USD
